Inhalation:
May cause irritation to the respiratory tract. Symptoms may include coughing and shortness of breath. Inhalation of high concentrations of dust may cause systemic poisoning with symptoms paralleling ingestion.
Ingestion:
Poisonous alkaloid. May cause salivation, perspiration, tearing, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, rapid or slow and irregular pulse, rapid respiration, giddiness, confusion, tremors, and convulsions. May be followed by slower respiration, weakness, and death by paralysis of the heart or lung edema. Dangerous doses range from 20 to 100 mg.
